To help filmmakers understand why a submitted film might not be approved during the initial review process, this FAQ outlines some common reasons for rejection. Addressing these areas before submission can increase the likelihood of your film being accepted onto the Reveel platform.
Film Title:
- Uppercase characters are reserved for acronyms
- Please follow capitalization rules of titles.
- No need to add the word "film" to the line title, such as
X DREAMCRUSHER FILM

- If your film is in a non-English language, please provide the English translation of the title in parentheses beside the original title. Example: Occhi Azzurri (Blue Eyes)
- Disjointed Narrative Storytelling: Similar to the other film, the flow of the story between scenes was unclear or illogical.
- Problematic Audio (Noises and Electronic Voices): The audio contained unwanted noises, and the actors' voices sounded artificial or distorted ("electronic"), significantly impacting the viewing experience.
- Lack or Inappropriate Visual Enhancements (Editing): The editing either did not include visual enhancements where they could have been beneficial, or the visual enhancements used were not suitable or effectively implemented.
- Inadequate Visual Composition/Cinematography: The way the shots were framed and composed visually was lacking, suggesting issues with the overall visual storytelling and aesthetic of the film
- Electronic Sounding Dialogue: The actors' voices in some scenes sounded artificial or distorted ("electronic"), negatively impacting the viewing experience
- Overpowering Background Music (Montage Scenes): The background music in the montage sequences was too loud, potentially distracting from the visuals or any accompanying narration.
- Dialogue Syncing Issues: The spoken dialogue in some scenes did not align correctly with the actors' lip movements or their on-screen actions, creating a noticeable and unprofessional disconnect.
- Inconsistent Shooting Orientation - The film lacked a consistent aspect ratio, with scenes shot in both portrait (vertical) and landscape (horizontal) orientations. This creates a jarring and unprofessional viewing experience.
- Audio Noises Throughout: Unwanted audio noises were present in both the montage scenes and the rest of the film, indicating issues with the audio recording or post-production process.
- Film Type:
Choose the correct type for your film.
- Series - Series films often involve sequels, which continue the story of the original film
- Featured Film - This is the full length film (usually a film that is over 80 minutes long)
- Short Film - A short film is any film that is too short to be considered a feature-length film.
- Short Description:
- Please follow capitalization rules.
- If the film is non-English, be sure to only provide the English translation for our English viewers to know what the film is about.
- Upload Film:
- Please wait a moment after clicking the button and uploading your film.
- It will show the percentage progress soon.
- Refreshing the page after uploading the film will interrupt it.
